Employers are legally required by Fire Safety Regulations (The Regulatory Reform Order 2005) to provide information, instruction, and training to employees about fire precautions in the workplace.

This course is designed for full-time and part-time employees in any workplace.

About This Course

At the end of the course, delegates will complete a theoretical test. On successful completion of this course, delegates will be issued with a certificate.

  • Understand the chemistry of fire
  • Know the fire hazards in the working environment
  • Be aware of the significant findings of relevant fire risk assessments
  • Understand how to practise and promote fire prevention
  • Be aware of basic fire safety and local fire safety protocols including staff responsibilities during a fire incident
  • Know the how to raise the fire alarm and the actions to take on hearing the fire alarm
  • Know the right steps instinctively to take if a fire breaks out, or smoke is detected
  • Be familiar with the different types of fire extinguishers
  • State the use and identify the safety precautions associated with the use of fire extinguishers
  • Understand the importance of being familiar with evacuation procedures and associated escape routes
